Chief Walpole started his career with SVPD in 2014 after serving sixteen years in law enforcement with the Town of Los Gatos. He is a lifelong resident of Scotts Valley who left the area for only a few years to attend college at Southern Oregon University. As a kid growing up in Scotts Valley he was very familiar with SVPD because his father, Stephen Walpole, was the Chief of Police for SVPD before retiring in 2001. Today, Chief Walpole spends most of his free time with his wife, Melissa, watching their two kids play sports for the local schools.
