ON DUTY SINCE 2003
DISPATCHER JERRY SCHWARZ
After a 25 year career in television and radio production, Jerry joined our department as an emergency dispatcher. This New York City native worked in his hometown until his 1986 move to the San Francisco Bay Area. He and his family moved to Santa Cruz County in 2000, and the small town atmosphere played a part in Jerry's career change. Wanting to connect with the community, and to do something more meaningful, led him to the field of law enforcement. His family is still his number one priority, and he spends all of his spare time with his wife Patti, a local artist, and his son, Noah, whose autism provides tremendous challenges and rewards.
If you're the kind of person who thinks the grass is always greener on the other side of the street, then you probably haven't been tending your own lawn well enough. Nurture and appreciate what you have before you start looking elsewhere.
