Cpt. Rutherford graduated from Stanislaus State with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He is the current SWAT Team Leader and former sniper for the team. Cpt. Rutherford is also an instructor for defensive tactics, impact weapons, firearms, and Taser. He has held various positions within the department, including FTO, Motor Officer, Detective, Sergeant, and now Captain.
