RESERVE OFFICER RECRUITMENT
Reserve officers are volunteers from the community that are tasked
with the same responsibilities of full-time officers. Our reserve
officers are uniformed officers who are equipped by this department
with all the duty gear assigned to all officers. They also complete
all in-service training including firearms, defensive tactics, first
aid/CPR, defensive driving, and legal updates. The Reserve Division
is responsible for saving the department thousands of dollars in
the form of volunteer patrol hours.
Reserve police officers perform
any combination of the following duties:
- Provide security for
public and school events;
- Assist with criminal
investigations;
- Serve arrest and search warrants;
- Assist with major
disasters and traffic control;
- Conduct stakeouts;
- Participate in department training;
- Participate in dual officer and solo patrol
work.
