POLICE LIEUTENANT
The Police Lieutenant is
a sworn managerial and supervisory position. The Lieutenant is expected
to perform a full range of duties including:
- Review of all major crime reports
- Review of staff reports
- Internal Affairs
- Investigations Unit
- Emergency services
- Budget reports
- Command the Operations and/or Administrative
Services Divisions.
The Police Lieutenant position also involves various
meetings with City and County officials, as well as assisting with
the many goals and objectives of the police department.
Typical of most executive and command level assignments,
this position is difficult to succeed in if one is not organized,
focused, and motivated to take on the demanding challenges of the
job.
