D.A.R.E. Golf Tournament

Friday August 22nd, 2014

Valley Gardens Golf Course

On behalf of the Scotts Valley Police Department and the Scotts Valley Peace Officer’s Association, I am proud to announce the upcoming Annual D.A.R.E. Golf Tournament Fund Raiser at Valley Gardens Golf Course FRIDAY, August 22nd, 2014. I want to take this opportunity to invite you to participate in this year’s tournament by playing on a team, sponsoring a hole, or making a donation toward our raffle.

D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) is a curriculum that our D.A.R.E. officer teaches to 5th grade students in the Scotts Valley School District. D.A.R.E. has a common objective of teaching students “life lessons” that they can use every day. These lessons include: building self-esteem, learning assertiveness, managing stress, and reducing violence. D.A.R.E. lessons also include saying “yes” to positive alternatives, and making decisions about behaviors, and resisting drugs, alcohol, gangs and other negative situations.

Your support of D.A.R.E. through your participation in this annual fund raiser is greatly appreciated and shows that your leadership role is a true commitment towards making Scotts Valley a safer place for our youth. Proceeds from this event also help support other juvenile programs such as Red Ribbon Week, the Junior Police Academy, etc.

I am pleased to announce that the Scotts Valley Exchange Club has graciously volunteered to assist us with this event. Our local Exchange Club has a long history of community service and we greatly appreciate their help.

This event continues to be a fun and successful fundraiser for our D.A.R.E. and juvenile programs. Click on these links for the Team Entry Form and Sponsor Form. I hope you will take a moment to print these forms out and participate in this year’s tournament.
